前者はそれぞれ今月の流れを牽引する素晴らしいクオリティで、これ以上ないチル体験を堪能できます。

後者は素晴らしいチル&ソウルの(10)から始まり→80年代の90年代の風を感じつつ→Nujabesへのジョイント曲(13)に繋がる、後半への橋渡しとなるモダンな流れが楽しめます。

今月のお勧めアーティスト

先月も取り上げた2曲目の Thee Marloes です。ジャンルとしては60〜70年代のソウルをルーツに持つインドネシアの3ピースバンドでラウンジ的でありつつ、メロウでスウィートな質感がとても良いです。「I'd Be Lost」はビーチサイドが似合うアレンジでまさに夏のチル。

彼女らのプロフィール（via Spotify）にアルバム紹介が乗っていて

"Rather than explaining those tensions outright, the songs aim to feel them."
（その葛藤を直接説明するのではなく、楽曲はそれを感じさせることを目指している。）

と記載されていたので、「説明する音楽」ではなく「体験させる音楽」という方向性もとても好感触でした。9月には東京公演もあるので楽しみです。

This month's second pick, also featured last month — Thee Marloes. A three-piece band from Indonesia rooted in '60s–'70s soul, with a lounge-y feel and a mellow, sweet texture that's just right. "I'd Be Lost" has an arrangement made for the beach — pure summer chill.

That idea — music that lets you feel rather than explain — really resonated with me. And with a Tokyo show coming this September, I'm already looking forward to it.
